The L.A. five-piece Local Natives are finally releasing their impressive debut, Gorilla Manor in the U.S. next week via Frenchkiss Records, but fans can listen to it in its entirety all this week on the site of their choice.  Streaming now on NPR and AOL Spinner, Gorilla Manor has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year since the band released it in Europe last fall, and many are already jotting it down on their “best of 2010” lists.  Listening to Local Natives’ complex arrangements and refined vocal harmonies, all delivered within the context of catchy hooks and sophisticated songwriting, it’s easy to see why.

Last week, the band premiered a video of a beautiful acoustic performance of “Cards & Quarters,” one of Gorilla Manor’s more mellow tracks, on ABC’s Amplified blog.  The stripped down performance was recorded in an abandoned lot close to the mansion where the band once lived, for which the album is named.

Local Natives also recently announced that they’re offering a pre-order of an exclusive deluxe package of Gorilla Manor on their website, which includes a bunch of extra tracks and video footage.  Fans can listen to and watch all of the content on the band’s website.  A pre-order of the CD or vinyl from Insound also includes the bonus “Sun Hands” seven inch, complete with an exclusive b-side.  The guys will be very active at SXSW in March, and after their April 18th Coachella performance, they’ll be heading out on a headlining tour of the states.  Full dates to come.
