The Saratoga Springs, NY duo of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, known collectively as Phantogram, released their debut LP Eyelid Movies on Barsuk Records earlier this year. The band recently capped a spring touring season consisting of a national run with The Antlers, a West Coast tour with The xx, and Canadian dates with Metric and Passion Pit with a huge co-headlining show at Governor’s Island in New York with Caribou on July 16th. August will have them back home in their studio writing and getting surprises ready for the fall tour.

Since its release, Eyelid Movies has been lauded: NPR fell for the band’s “mysterious, danceable pop music.” Pitchfork called it “a sumptuous, seductive record,” while both Spin and Alternative Press gave the record four stars. (more…)

Phantogram wrapped up a run of dates with The Antlers earlier this month, and are currently on a headlining tour of the Midwest and East coast. They’ll head back west in June for the Sasquatch Festival and a weeklong jaunt with UK dream-pop trio The xx. Full dates after the jump.

The Saratoga Springs, NY duo of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, known collectively as Phantogram, are preparing to barnstorm the nation multiple times in 2010. Even though their west coast tour opening for Zero 7 ended just before the holidays, the Saratoga Springs, NY duo of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, known as collectively as Phantogram, are already preparing to barnstorm the nation multiple times in 2010.

In celebration of the release of their debut LP Eyelid Movies (February 9th on Barsuk Records) the band will be hitting the east coast and Midwest.

In other Phantogram related news, Seattle / New York City based tastemaker radio station KEXP also recently released a live video of the duo playing “Mouthful of Diamonds” live on The Morning Show with John Richards.  Recorded this past fall at Cutting Room Studios during the CMJ Music Festival, it gives those who haven’t had the chance to see the band yet a taste of their brilliant live show.
