HipHopOfficial caught up with Fash in Brooklyn where he discussed his latest mixtape, Ode To Illmatic, and Nas’ influence on his career.

Fashawn’s new video for “The Ecology/The Score” featuring Planet Asia finds the Fresno based MC seamlessly transitioning between his acclaimed 2009 release Boy Meets World and the upcoming mixtape Grizzly City 3.

Our friends at Karmaloop sat down with One Records artist Fashawn to discuss his recent XXL Magazine cover, which spotlights the Boy Meets World emcee as one of hip-hop’s most exciting up and coming artists.  When speaking about his inclusion in XXL’s coveted “Freshman Top 10” feature, Fashawn tells Karmaloop, “It was dope to be part of the new regime of music and talent and hip-hop. We’ve been talking a lot about Fashawn lately, and for good reason. He’s everywhere. This week he unleashed a new video for “Samsonite Man” featuring fellow Exile collaborator Blu. Check it out.

The good folks over at HipHopDX caught up with Fashawn during the “Breakin’ Dawn” tour, where he speaks on ”When She Calls”. A more personal record that touches close to home for the Fresno rapper. As he states, “It’s about my friend, man…it’s a real touchy subject.”

“When She Calls” tells the story of a friend who commits suicide, in first-person narrative, after finding his girlfriend has cheated on him.
