The Raveonettes Premiere Vivid New Video For “Heart Of Stone” on VEVO

Last year’s In & Out Of Control [Vice Music] found The Raveonettes pulling together all of the disparate sounds they’ve mastered over their decade-spanning career. From bubblegum pop and sinister noir rock, to fuzzed out noise and throbbing dance music, Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo compiled it all on their fourth LP.  But despite the album’s nomadic heart, the Raves’ true sweet spot has always been the ringing, reverbed guitars and slicked back melodies that make album standout “Heart of Stone” such a pleaser. Picking up where they left off on 2008’s “Black / White” collaboration, the band recently reunited with Blind to create a video deserving of the track.

The Raveonettes Offer New Bonus Track, Head West

When dashing Danish duo The Raveonettes released In And Out Of Control to the masses last month, fans lucky enough to purchase the record from select indie retailers were rewarded with an exclusive bonus disc featuring “Planes Do Crash” and “The Chosen One,” two never-before-heard tracks. RecordStoreDay.com powered the promotion, pointing exclusive-hunters to retailers where the bonus disc was available. Of course, it was a “while supplies last” deal, so only a handful are still available (check out the website for details). But just as the stockpile begins to run low, RSD.com is offering up one of the songs — the jittery soda-shop stomp “The Chosen One” — for free. Fans who missed out on the physical goods can snag both exclusives when they buy the full album from ThinkIndie.com.

The band is in the midst of a brief respite from the road, where they’ve been supporting In And Out Of Control alongside The Black Angels since mid October. On Thursday, they start pounding pavement again in Vancouver, and are joined for a west coast leg the following night in Seattle by Crocodiles. And, of course, the band is still giving away tickets to fans via Twitter. Remaining itinerary below.

The Raveonettes Do Live Daily Session, Keep Doling Out Tickets

The first leg of The Raveonettes’ In And Out Of Control tour comes to an end tomorrow night in Kansas City. But to tide audiences over until the festivities kick back off with Crocodiles in early November, Live Daily has posted a brand new in-studio performance from the band. The feature sports the bewitchingly voiced Sharin Foo and a Hawaiian-shirted Sune Wagner playing through three of their latest LP’s favorites, the short but bittersweet “Oh I Buried You Today,” the bubblegum bounce of “Suicide” and the overdosing lead-single “Last Dance.” Check them out below.

In other news, Foo and Wagner are still giving away tickets to their fans via Twitter in exchange for new merch ideas. Tired of the boilerplate fare (after all, who needs another t-shirt?), The Raveonettes want to expand their horizons according to their fans’ requests. All would-be concertgoers need to do to for a chance to win is tweet the date on which they’d like to see the band, along with a new merch idea, making sure to include the hash-tag #ravestour (otherwise the tweet might be missed). The band has been selecting winners at random and alerting the lucky someone in each city via Direct Message two days before the show.

The Raveonettes Launch Tour, Give Fans Backstage Passes Via Twitter

With the release of In And Out Of Control now in the rearview, Danish noir-pop duo The Raveonettes are hitting the road in support of the critically acclaimed full-length, their fourth overall and second after a Vice Records re-birth. The multi-month jaunt kicked off last night in Hoboken with an intimate performance at the 200-capcity Maxwells, and will run into November. But this isn’t your average tour. Earlier today, the band announced via a  Myspace blog post that they’d be giving tickets to one lucky fan in each market, and – even better – allowing that special someone to hang out backstage for a drink before the show. What does the band expect in return? Merch ideas! Tired of t-shirts, stickers, and the boilerplate merch table fare, The Raveonettes want to expand their horizons with input from their fans. Run exclusively on Twitter, all fans need to do to for a chance to win is tweet the date on which they’d like to see the band, along with a new merch idea, making sure to include the hash-tag #ravestour (otherwise the tweet might be missed). The band will select the winner at random and alert the lucky someone in each city via Direct Message two days before the show.

The Raveonettes Release In And Out Of Control

Today, The Raveonettes have released In And Out Of Control, the second Vice LP, and fourth overall, from Denmark’s royal couple of melancholic pop. The Thomas Troelsen produced song cycle has already been greeted with a cavalcade of pre-release praise, and is sure to meet the expectations of fans, who’ve been involved in the album’s process since the band opened up recording sessions to devotees in June. The album’s lean 11 tracks are the perfect balance of the band’s terse guitar rock, the noisier elements of Lust Lust Lust, and a new-fangled appreciation for sugary choruses and unforgettably sweet melodies.

“Chilly, disturbing lyrics emerge from a dense fog of blissful Spector harmonies and Jesus and Mary Chain surf and strings.”SPIN

“A perfect contrast of lighthearted melodies and dark lyrical themes.  The only thing they can be accused of changing this time around is that they’ve made an even better record.”SOMA

“Consistently making strong albums…their forthcoming In and Out of Control may be their best to date.”NEW YORK MAGAZINE

Raveonettes Premiere “Last Dance” Video At MTV, Keep Streaming In And Out Of Control

Not pausing to rest their laurels in the lead up to October 6th’s In And Out Of Control, Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo of The Raveonettes have premiered a brand new video for lead single “Last Dance” at MTV. The airy noisepop track, already declared “immaculate” by Spin Magazine, has been paired with an eccentric clip helmed by Matthew Lessner, the music vid whiz behind “Stillness Is The Move” by The Dirty Projectors. At times vivacious and carefree, at others adventurous and dark, the video for “Last Dance” features extensive use of a green-screen combined with lo-fi technology (like that bird Sharin is singing to in the screengrab above), mirroring the tension and interplay of a band that’s built a career out of combining old with new and dark with light. The Danish duo will bring their skuzzy bubblegum to MTV2’s Subterranean when they host the show on the night of Sunday, October 4th at 2am EST.

The Raveonettes Exclusively Premiere In And Out Of Control At Myspace Music

After months of anticipation, and a near-constant stream of music and videos – a slow drip of Twitter demos, live streams from the recording studio, a series of stripped-down video performances of album tracks, and more – Myspace Music is exclusively premiering the latest LP from Danish noir-rockers The Raveonettes. In And Out Of Control, their fourth overall, and second for Vice Records, was recorded this summer with Thomas Troelsen at Delta Lab in Copenhagen, Denmark. From the streaking guitars and saccharine melody of lead leak “

Raveonettes Cap Chelsea Session Preview Series With New Vid

For the past month, The Raveonettes have been churning out preview clips from The Chelsea Sessions, a 20-minute, iTunes-exclusive companion video to In And Out Of Control, the fourth LP from the Danish-bred gloom-pop duo. The final snippet in the series of sneak peaks, a bracing performance and discussion of the addictively-melodic “D.R.U.G.S.,” was premiered earlier this week on Prefix. The series kicked off back in August with a take on “Suicide” at ABC’s Amplified blog, before moving on to “Breaking Into Cars” at Spin.com, “Gone Forever” at Current TV Music, and the album’s first official single “Last Dance” at AOL Spinner. But if fans missed any of the clips along the way, they’ve all been corralled together in a playlist courtesy of Vice Records, who’ll be delivering the album on October 6th. Embed code and a direct link to the playlist is below.
