We may be enjoying the last few weeks of summer, but don’t get discouraged just yet, because the fall has a lot of exciting releases up its sleeve: ISIS, Levek, Menomena, Enslaved… Add Death Cab for Cutie frontman Benjamin Gibbard‘s Former Lives to that list and you’ve got everything you need to keep a smile on your face and earphones on your ears.
Recently in the news for his tribute to long-time Seattle Mariners’ outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, who was traded to the New York Yankees last month, and his contribution to the “90 Days, 90 Reasons“ initiative for President Obama, Ben Gibbard is ready to take the spotlight on stage on a 13-date North American tour in support of his first solo album. That highly-anticipated release, Former Lives will hit stores on October 16 via Barsuk Records.
From East to West, passing through Canada and the Midwest, Gibbard will meet his public for the first time on his own… or almost. Advance Base and Damien Jurado will be supporting him for a handful of shows each.
