IFC has unveiled the full, unedited version of The Black Angels new video, “Entrance Song,” complete with a wandering, naked, dream girl. It’s not that she’s just not naked in the previously released family-approved version on VEVO – she’s nowhere to be found in it at all.
Directed by Michael Maxxis, the video chronicles a solitary biker’s psychedelic journey through a barren desert, where he is harassed by a mysterious glittery figure that conjures other riders to taunt him, seemingly at will. But in this saucy NSFW version, the protagonist encounters the naked beauty and rides off with her on his motorcycle into the great unknown…
The band’s new album Phosphene Dream marks a huge leap forward for The Black Angels. It was produced and mixed by Dave Sardy (Oasis, Wolfmother) in Los Angeles, a far stretch from the cozy Austin studios that delivered their first two records.
The Black Angels‘ Californian tour kicked off a couple of weeks ago in Santa Barbara, CA and included a set at Coachella Music Festival this past weekend. The band will be touring for the rest of April and will follow up with dates in August, so there’s plenty of time to catch them live. No excuses, folks! This tour is a must see!
