Don’t bury the Tomahawk: Performance in October, Oddfellows release in January

July 11, 2012 Artist News 1 Comment

OddfellowsThis is the odd (yet, intriguing) name of the highly anticipated new album from Tomahawk. I imagine now you’re probably wondering … WHEN?? Well, Duane Denison, Mike Patton, John Stanier and last but not least, the new bass player Trevor Dunn, are happy to announce their comeback in January 2013 on Ipecac Records. That’s not all!! The eclectic rock band will also perform their first live performance in almost a decade in late October at the New Orlean’s Voodoo Music and Arts Experience. Who’s going?! We are.

5 years have passed since Tomahawk‘s last release, Anonymous. Far from being anonymous, the band composed what they consider to be an album that features a little dark and claustrophobic here and a little light and spacious there. Tomahawk is essentially re-launching after a lengthy hiatus, explained Denison to Rolling Stone Magazine.

Oddfellows was recorded at Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville, which is owned by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and the album was co-produced by Tomahawk and Collin Dupuis (The Black Keys, The Nocturnals).

Get ready, additional dates will be announced soon!
