King Khan & BBQ Show might be announcing new records, and The Black Lips might be slinging splits with members of the Horrors, but come September 22nd, there’s only one thing either garage rock troupe is going to care about – The Almighty Defenders. Yesterday, Pitchfork premiered the second piece of music from the VICE Music self titled release. “Cone of Light” is, as Ryan Dombal claimed, a track that “shimmies with some Sam Cooke-y gospel swagger.” It’s the perfect follow-up to swampy, lead sing-a-long “Bow Down And Die,” and yet another reason to look forward to September 22nd.
