The Orchard is thrilled and honored to join efforts with Theatre Within this year to release The 30th Annual John Lennon Tribute. The album is a live recording of last year’s concert event which gathered legendary music icons Patti Smith, Jackson Browne, Cyndi Lauper, Aimee Mann, Keb’ Mo’, Joan Osborne, The Kennedys, Rich Pagano of the Fab Faux, as well as YouTube sensations such as Chris Bliss and Wendy Osserman.
Theatre Within is a not-for-profit Performing Arts Presenter dedicated to producing benefit shows for outstanding charities. They have been organizing the annual John Lennon’s tribute show since 1981, with Yoko Ono’s support.
Speaking of artists who successfully went solo, The Orchard has also partnered up with
Rhett Miller. For those who are not familiar with this name,
Rhett Miller is the front man and main songwriter of the rock ‘n’ roll quartet
Old 97’s, as well as an accomplished solo artist. In addition to his seven records with the 97’s, he has released three highly regarded solo albums:
The Instigator (2002),
The Believer (2006), and
Rhett Miller (2009). We have the pleasure of releasing his next two. Keep an eye out for the first,
Live at Largo, which includes a collection of covers recorded at the well-known L.A. club. It will hit stores in late November.
