Deleted Scenes, the art rockers from Washington D.C. are on the brink of releasing a new album in one short week… and Paste Magazine has just offered you an exclusive preview. Catch the full stream premiere of the genre-tweaking Young People’s Church of the Air, including tracks “English as a Second Language” and “Bedbedbedbedbed,” out July 10th on Park The Van Records.
The album mixes themes of family, love, death and joy, incorporating studio sounds and home-recorded lo-fi noise. Pitchfork describes it as seeking to transcend both personal and aural ugliness. Young People’s Church of the Air follows Deleted Scenes‘s debut Birdseed Shirt LP, which you can find now on NoiseTrade with a special bonus track of “The Days of Adderall.”
Considered one of the best rock bands in Washington, Deleted Scenes‘ newest collection of songs originated in frontman Daniel Scheuerman’s basement and was recorded at the Garden Center in Hockessin, DE, with Nick Krill (The Spinto Band) and Birdseed Shirt producer L. Skell.
