Fall 2016 is looking better and better for The Orchard as we’ve acquired another fantastic film from this year’s SXSW line up. This time, The Orchard won all North American rights to Julia Hart‘s directorial debut, “Miss Stevens,” a film with a cast and crew sculpted for success.
Miss Stevens follows the story of a teacher and her students that aims to answer the age-old question of “who’s teaching who?” In the midst of a complicated personal life, high-school teacher Miss Stevens takes on the responsibility of accompanying three of her students to a weekend-long drama competition. The diverse personalities of her students deepen and support one another as the weekend progresses, causing the field trip’s chaperone to realize aspects of her own “adult” life.
Written by Hart and Jordan Horowitz (producer of The Kids are All Right) and starring SXSW Best Actress Special Jury Prize winner Lily Rabe, Timotheé Chalamet, Lili Reinhart and more, the staff’s framework should be enough to convince you that this is a must-see.
