Tool Provides Daily and Weekly Activity Data Views across Top Digital Retailers by Transaction Type, Time Period, and Location
New York– March 18, 2010 – Today, The Orchard (NASDAQ: ORCD), a global leader in music and video distribution and comprehensive digital strategy, announced it has launched a new interactive analytics tool within its client workstation. The tool uses daily and weekly sales activity generated from The Orchard’s top digital retail partners, including iTunes, eMusic, Verizon Wireless, 24-7 Entertainment, Deezer, and YouTube, to display full-scope sales information on specific releases through charts, line graphs and an interactive heat map. Data from additional digital retailers will be added to the analytics tool in the coming weeks.
The analytics tool was developed in-house by The Orchard’s technology team and is available in English, Spanish and French. It transforms daily and weekly sales data generated by stores into easy to understand sales figures viewable by type of transaction, time period, and location. The tool displays near real-time sales information from album downloads, track downloads, track streams, video streams, video downloads, and ringtones.
“When I look at Surfer Blood’s sales trend chart I can clearly see the days when downloads and streams spike, and from there can understand which marketing efforts actually impact sales,” said Kay Quartararo of Kanine Records. “With the addition of this tool, The Orchard provides an end-to-end solution; from fast delivery to online promotions to analytics, they are the perfect partner to lead Kanine through the digital space.”
The Orchard also designed a heat map, which visualizes sales performance according to zip-code. The map filters sales by album or track over specific time periods. With this, clients can draw conclusions from location-based information to focus their marketing campaigns, route their tours, create their radio campaigns, and enhance physical efforts.
“The Orchard’s Release Analytics tool is very impressive,” commented Jochen Maass, Vice President of Nuclear Blast. “After years of building our global business with limited visibility into our sales data outside of gigantic sales grids, this tool gives us an easy to use dashboard to help us see how our marketing efforts are translating on a real time, global basis….and the heat map really wowed us. I wish our whole business would be as visible as it is with The Orchard’s tool.”
