Becoming a YouTube Pro with Creator AcademyFollowing the success of online instructional courses like Codecademy, Coursera and others, YouTube has announced its own free instructional series called Creator Academy.

The inaugural 2-week course will run from June 3 – 16 and focus on maximizing your YouTube channel: growing your subscriber base, getting the most out of the new One Channel layout, and programming your content to get viewers to return more often. In addition to the interactive lessons taught by YouTube pros, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and interact with other YouTube Creators and the teaching staff during weekly Google+ Hangouts on Air.

YouTube estimates that the course will take about 4-6 hours per week to complete, but you can work at your own pace as long as you submit your assignments by 8pm PDT on June 16, 2013. The course is entirely free, so head over here to sign up before the June 3rd kickoff.

With YouTube becoming one of the most important social networks not only for engaging fans but making money from your video content as well, knowing how to get the most out of the YouTube platform is vital.
