Meet Multi-Talented Breakthrough Artist, Anderson .Paak

885150341414-andersonAnderson .Paak is a singer-songwriter, rapper, producer and drummer. He’s blowing up right now, and for good reason. Besides his unique songwriting and producing skills, this man is also a great entertainer. See for yourself in this live @ Canal + in France performance and most recently on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

His story is overwhelming: coming from homelessness, Anderson overcame all odds and is now critically acclaimed by Rolling Stone and Fader Magazine as “one of the most amazing vocalists in R&B” and a hot up-and-coming artist to watch out for. In 2015, Anderson .Paak landed his big break by getting featured on 6 out of 16 tracks on Grammy Award-winning artist and producer Dr. Dre’s latest and highly buzzed about album Compton, crowning him the most featured artist on the album, and the only artist with a solo track.

Now his second album Malibu, following his debut Venice, is putting the artist onto another level. The album features production from 9th Wonder, DJ Khalil, Madlib, Kaytranada, Pomo, Dem Jointz, Callum Conner, Hi-Tek, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals. Featured vocalists include ScHoolboy Q, Talib Kweli, BJ The Chicago Kid and Rhapsody. Press and radio around the world are showering Anderson with praise and he has already been named Breakthrough Act of the Year at the 2016 Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards.

Of course, behind every artist’s success is a strong team. With that, Anderson Paak’s label Steel Wool Entertainment deserves great props. Based in Los Angeles, Steel Wool has a great ear for cool new stuff. Founder and CEO Kevin Morrow is a veteran of the music industry and one of the founders of “House of Blues.” His vision is to focus on the evolution of the traditional entertainment model and bridge the gap between artists & content owners and their fans via emerging social and digital platforms. That is why this label and The Orchard fit perfectly together. Look out for other great artists besides Anderson .Paak like Watsky, Jez Dior and many more.
