A Collector’s Paradise: Record Store Day 2019 Titles Revealed In 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees, an idea was concocted, an idea to establish a day dedicated to the unique culture that surrounds record stores. A year later on April 19th, 2008 Record Store Day (RSD) was realized and the celebration now boasts participation from infamous stores across the US. With in-store signings, giveaways, live shows and so much more, the day has grown into a unifying musical experience.

Spotify Singles, Kelsea Ballerini (Black River Entertainment)
Two-time Grammy Nominee, Kelsea Ballerini will be releasing her Spotify Singles as an exclusive for Record Store Day. The custom pressed 7” vinyl includes Ballerini’s hit single “Miss Me More” which has been in the Billboard Top 20 Country Charts for the past 12-weeks and has earned over 65 million streams globally. The second and final track on the record holds close personal value to Ballerini. “When Shawn’s (Shawn Mendes) record came out, “Lost In Japan” immediately was my favorite,” said Ballerini. “I love the soft, flirty nature of the lyrics and thought it would be fun to put a stripped, country feel to it.”

Otis Redding is known throughout the music industry as The King of Soul and his crown dazzles with jewels of legendary performances. In 1967, he and fellow legends Booker T. and M.G.’s gave audiences a heart-stopping, career-defining performance. We all know this one and I am sure that the viral melody of “Baby Shark” is already nesting itself into your mind. For Record Store Day Pinkfong has made both “Baby Shark” and the EDM remix available as an adorable 7” vinyl with a picture of the famous baby ocean dweller.

For Young Hearts, Soccer Mommy (Fat Possum Records)
2018 was a breakout year for the 21-year-old singer-songwriter Sophie Allison, AKA Soccer Mommy. Her latest album Clean was rated the #1 album of 2018 by the New York Times and placing Allison in a headlining tour supporting Grammy-winning Kacey Musgraves. For RSD we are looking back at what started it all back in 2016. Her debut EP For Young Hearts is pressed in a 140 gram green smoke vinyl and includes a large custom Soccer Mommy poster all wrapped in a gatefold matte jacket.

Los Lobotomys began as a jam band in 1985 when several-top session players in LA started to jam at the icon North Hollywood Jazz Club, The Baked Potato. Revolving around heavy improvisation and fusion of multiple genres, Los Lobotomy began to explode worldwide. For Record Store Day the band is releasing an only 2000 copies of the remastered version of the 1989 album Los Lobotomys featuring members of TOTO, Frank Zappa, Ringo Starr and more!
