Elevating Fitness One Track At A Time

Staying active and healthy during these unknown times is crucial not only for physical health but also for strengthening and exercising the mind. It is healing and special to see a lot of communities, specifically the fitness and music industry, come together during these challenging times. What better way to keep your body moving and to keep an open, positive mind than through music? Many fitness companies and instructors are offering virtual classes online; in particular, via YouTube, Instagram Live (or IGTV), or tailoring their offering via in-home mobile applications. For example, Equinox Group with plans to launch Variis, an in-home workout application, is offering some of its workout videos via IGTV

Another company in particular that has elevated its fitness and music offerings is Peloton

For those of you who are not familiar with Peloton, Peloton’s mission statement says it best: “Peloton uses technology and design to connect the world through fitness, empowering people to be the best version of themselves anywhere, anytime.” Not only do they offer live classes for their bikes and treadmills, they also offer thousands of on-demand classes accessible right at your fingertips. In an effort to promote wellness and stay connected, Peloton is currently offering a free 90 day trial of their app which contains all different workouts from running, strength, bootcamp, cardio, stretching, yoga, meditation, and their recently launched dance cardio classes. There is definitely a class for you no matter what your workout style or choice of genre is!

For those users who do have the bike or treadmill and are looking for an easy way to escape or relieve stress, Peloton offers artist-specific rides from an array of genres, featuring some of your favorite artists. If you haven’t tried out Pitbull’s artist ride and been meaning to, now is the time to party on a bike with Mr. Worldwide.  “Have the time of your life as the beats and swagger of Mr. Worldwide move through you” in Pitbull’s ride and run. You’ll warm up, cycle, and cool down to a Pitbull-themed soundtrack. Let the beat of the music takeover and enjoy old and new hits!

Elevating Fitness One Track At A Time

Peloton recently launched Peloton Family to enjoy with your loved ones including family breaks and meditation. For example, Fit Family Fun is a 15-min long workout for children ages 5 and up,  while Fit Family Strong is a 20-min workout for children ages 10 and up. This is a great way to keep your children active and busy while having some fun!

If you don’t have a bike or treadmill, that’s totally ok! Get your name on the waitlist for the Variis app, sign up for Peloton for countless classes that don’t involve equipment, and follow along on Instagram Live for daily meditation, yoga, stretches, and full-body workouts from a number of fitness brands. You don’t have to get into the best shape of your life while you’re stuck indoors, but do take some time to focus on yourself. There are free resources available and Instagram is now a haven for endless workouts. Find what you like and set a weekly routine.

Most importantly, take care of yourself. Working out even just for 20 minutes a day can help you mentally and physically during these difficult times. Grab a mat and a towel and we’ll see you out there!
