Freeloader Friday: Mr.Lif, Rogue Wave, Slayer & More

Mr-Lif-World-Renown-640x640Feliz Viernes (Translation: Happy Friday) Orchardites! My name is Catherine, and I’ll be filling in for Charlotte today. The Orchard had some great releases this week, so let’s get right into it!

First up, we have a new video from Slayer. Get the backstory behind the prison riot from the “Repentless” video in this even-gorier follow up for “You Against You.” Just don’t say we didn’t warn you — this gets bloody!

Rapper Mr. Lif returns with “World Renown,” the lead single off his album Don’t Look Down (Did that just rhyme? It totally did) available April 15 via Mello Music Group. His first album since 2009, the single features fellow rapper Del The Funky Homosapien as both artists bounce bars off each other to the backdrop of an old-school Hip Hop beat. This track will definitely have you head-bopping right into the weekend.

And last, but certainly not least, Rogue Wave returns after a three-year hiatus with their single “California Bride.” Their sixth studio album Delusions of Grand Fur will be out April 29 on Easy Sound Recording, and if their single is any indication of what’s to follow, we can’t wait to hear more! With its melodic guitar lines, driving rhythms and somber yet poppy lyrics, “California Bride” proves that this album will be worth the wait.

And that rounds up some of our picks for The Orchard’s releases this week!
