The Orchard Acquires “Under The Eiffel Tower” At Cannes


What’s more fitting than acquiring a French-themed film during Festival de Cannes? The Orchard is excited to acquire worldwide rights to Archie Borders’ Under The Eiffel Tower. 

Written by Borders and David Henry, Under The Eiffel Tower stars Matt Walsh (Veep) as Stuart, a salesman struggling through a mid-life crisis. In his search of fulfillment, Stuart finds himself on a Parisian vacation with is best friend’s family where he proposes to and is rejected by his friend’s 24-year-old daughter. In the throws of self-pity, Stuart takes off across the French countryside in search of meaning and meets a footballer and beautiful French woman along the way.

Planned for July production in France, the stellar ensemble stars Emmy-nominee Matt Walsh of Veep, Cesar Award-winner Judith Godrèche (L’auberge espagnole), Ary Abittan (Qu’est-ce qu-on a fait au bon Dieu), David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer), Gary Cole (Talladega Nights), Ryan Eggold (The Blacklist) and Michaela Watkins (Casual).
