Set in 1992, the film follows a foster family’s arrival to South Central Los Angeles just weeks before violence erupts surrounding the Rodney King trial verdict. Produced by Charles Gillibert and Vincent Maraval, Kings is currently in postproduction and planned for a fall release.
The Orchard’s final acquisition is Cannes Competition pic BPM (120 Battements Par Minute). Directed by Robin Campillo, The Orchard will be handling US distribution and is planning a 2017 theatrical release. BPM takes place in Paris during the early 90’s and focuses on a group of AIDs activists. The film was incredibly well received, noted as a favorite heading into the festival competition.
