In what USA Today described as “… a gorgeous (and horrifying) masterpiece, the most anticipated action sports film ever to be released has just touched down and is breaking records across the board. The Fourth Phase is the follow-up film to the 2011 blockbuster hit The Art of Flight, featuring iconic snowboard legend Travis Rice and friends as they plot a 16,000 mile course to follow the hydrological cycle around the North Pacific.
This journey takes them to the most spectacular locations in search of epic terrain including Russia, Japan and deep interior British Columbia. Rice navigates deep powder, avalanche danger and formidable weather conditions to an original score written and performed by Kishi Bashi. Produced by Red Bull Media House and Brain Farm Digital Cinema, the film set out to break the traditional action sports film model and tell a deeper story centered on a crew of riders that all share a love of travel and snowboarding.
In its first week alone, The Fourth Phase crushed the iTunes charts debuting as #1 in Sports, Documentary and Independent film genres in every iTunes territory. It reached as high as #7 Top Movies overall in the USA rubbing shoulders with the likes of Independence Day and The X Men. Variety described it as “the once medley of wham-bam highlights, action sports movies are now that — movies.” The Fourth Phase has pushed the boundaries of what was possible and officially changed the action sports movie making game. The film is available worldwide in HD on all digital services as well as UHD 4K through Vimeo on Demand. Check out the official trailer and catch the magic of The Fourth Phase for yourself here.
