The Swedish music community gathered to celebrate the biggest and most grand night of music on February 6th, 2020 at the 37th Annual Swedish Grammy ceremony. At this year’s Grammisgalan, The Orchard distributed artists received ten nominations across all categories! By the end of the evening, two of our partners went home winners.
Swedish doom metal band Candlemass was awarded “Metal of the Year” for their album The Door to Doom. Candlemass is signed to the heavy metal and hard rock label Napalm Records and is now a veteran in the Swedish metal scene. Candlemass has been the defining influence on doom metal with over thirty years of experience playing together.
Folk trio Willemark/Knutsson/Öberg (Playing With Music) took home “Best Folk of The Year” at this year’s Grammisgalan. It was no surprise that these three very established musicians were awarded for their collaboration on the album Svenska låtar.
It’s also worth mentioning that golden voiced singer-songwriter Sarah Klang was nominated in two prestigious categories for her sophomore album Creamy Blue: “Album of the Year ” and “Best Alternative Pop Album.”
Our entire Swedish team attended the ceremony and it is safe to say that the group has never dressed so well. The team enjoyed a fantastic night filled with a lovely three-course dinner and spectacular performances.
