The annual ADISQ Gala honors the greatest music and artists from the independent music sector in Quebec, Canada. This year, The Orchard distributed partners earned an incredible 105 total nominations! Leading the nominations are Hubert Lenoir with eleven nominations and Lisa LeBlanc with six nominations.
Arcadian songwriter, performer, and producer Lisa LeBlanc is nominated for: Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Female Performer of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record Achievement Of The Year. LeBlanc’s renowned album Chiac Disco (Bonsound) showcases the unexpected crossover of disco and chiac, using tones sometimes reminiscent of the 60s and 70s.
Hubert Lenoir earned 11 nominations for his sophomore album, PICTURA DE IPSE: Musique directe. The concept behind the album is inspired by Québécois filmmakers who used observational documentaries known as cinéma direct. Lenoir created his own “Musique directe” by using an iPhone to capture conversations and sounds from his day-to-day life to sample throughout his 20-track album. For the 2022 ADISQ Gala, Lenoir received nominations in the following categories: Alternative Album of the Year, Album Of The Year – Critics’ Choice, Video of the Year, Artist Of The Year – International Reach, Songwriter of the Year, Male Performer of the Year, Arrangement of the Year, International Collaboration of the Year, Album Cover of the Year, Sound Recording and Mixing, Record Achievement Of The Year
