Freeloader Friday: Blackburner, Ted Nugent, Laurel, Kid Astray, Mortals, Lusine, Chicago, Cowbell, & Incan Abraham

Blackburner: From Dusk To Dub album coverWith the World Cup in full swing, it’s time to take a break from watching the latest match and instead rock out to some music. Lucky for you, we’ve got the perfect set of tunes to fill the weekend.

There are a record six new tracks for you this week! Get your Trap on with the latest from Blackburner, an innovative EDM banger featuring Yellowman. Then, Ted Nugent will have you Rockin’ and Rollin’ along to the newest song from his upcoming album. This inspirational track encourages listeners to “never stop dreaming” while electric guitars jam in the background. Chill out with a dreamy track from Laurel that evokes somber sentiments over Electronic-meets-Folk instrumentation. Kid Astray takes “summer jam” to a whole new meaning with the M83 and Pet Shop Boys influenced title track from their upcoming EP. This is Indie Synth-Pop at its finest. Next, go dark with the surprise-filled “thrashed boogie” from Black Metal band Mortals. Finally, listen to Lusinefind beauty in strange places” via subtle beats and pulsing synths.

Now, enjoy an eclectic mix of music videos! First, go old-school with the Brass-fueled Rock of the new (but quintessentially) Chicago track that backs their homemade-style music video. Then, take a journey to the Spanish desert with Soul-Rock duo Cowbell in the video for the latest track from their upcoming album. Lastly, time travel to another era in the video for Incan Abraham’s luscious, percussive Synth-Pop track.

And that’s a wrap, Freeloaders. Enjoy your weekend!

Freeloader Friday: Big Freedia, Cerebral Ballzy, Vanna, Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas, French Style Furs, Blackburner, Ted Nugent, Suicide Silence, Sweet Apple & Boy Jumps Ship

Big Freedia Just Be Free Album CoverYesterday marked the kickoff of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and, I don’t know about you, but for me, no sporting event is complete without some tunes bumping in the background. So, thanks to this week’s Freeloader Friday lineup, your weekend is about to be soccer and song streaming perfection.

Let’s kick it off with three killer full album streams. First up, as soon as you stream Big Freedia’s new Bounce album full of Electro bangers, a wild twerk party will inevitably ensue. Take caution (and check your surroundings) before you hit play. For something completely different, check out Cerebral Ballzy’s latest album of Hardcore Punk that is an intense and chaotic display of rage. Finally, get ready to thrash to the “pure adrenaline” that is Vanna’s new Metal release. It’s passionate. It’s furious. It’s passionous.

Now to the track premieres. We’ve got a taste of the latest from Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas: Soulful yet breezy vocals backed by swoony Cabaret-Rock. Then, a merging of poetry-activism and Dark-Rock on the latest sneak peek from French Style Furs. Next, listen to an eclectic mix of Eastern-European Folk alongside Bass drops and high-hats, plus guests spots from Lil Wayne and Royce Da 5’9, on Blackburner’s new genre-defying track. Lastly, don’t forget to check out some Classic Rock in the form of Ted Nugent’s old-school jam featuring Sammy Hager.

You’re in luck because we’ve got four videos for you this week. Start off with the lyric video for Suicide Silence’s newest groove, an extremely dark Deathcore track. Then, lighten things up with even more Big Freedia! Watch the Queen of Bounce strut her stuff in the streets – and the laundromat – while a team of dancers around her “release [their] wiggle” to this epic Electronica track. Next, let Sweet Apple take you out on the water in the music video for their forlorn Acoustic number featuring Mark Lanegan and Rachel Haden. Finish with the latest music video from Boy Jumps Ship, where the Pop-Punk band makes their way from the tattoo parlor to the barbershop to the boxing studio, and end up crowd-surfing with a room full of friends and fans who are singing along to this feel-good, unapologetic anthem.

While you watch Argentina, France, Colombia, England, and more face off in futebol (if we’re being Brazilian about it), crank these tunes and I promise you won’t be sorry. Happy weekend!

Freeloader Friday: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, King Buzzo, My Iron Lung, Blackburner, Riverwild, Naomi Shelton & The Gospel Queens, Within Temptation, Racing Glaciers & Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Only RunWith the month of May coming to an end and June about to unfold, summer is well on its way. Can you feel it in the air?! And with the summer months, we’ll be seeing plenty of backyard BBQ’s, beach parties, concerts under the stars… you name it. Along with all that, there’ll be plenty of summer jams to sift through, and we’ll lead you through them all summer long.

First up this weekend are the full albums that are up for grabs. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah comes back full swing with their first album since 2011, laden with glorious Indie Rock and seesaw synths. King Buzzo (known for his all-out Metal sound with The Melvins) is also out with an album, but its contents may come as a surprise. He’s taken the Hardcore, heavy-Metal sound and laid it down on a completely unplugged, Acoustic LP.

As for tracks, there are plenty of those to be had, too. My Iron Lung has new shreds and Hardcore melodies on their single, while Blackburner fumes over into a bass rager. Also try: Riverwild’s mellow-fueled, swirling syncopation of an Indie track and Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens’ rough-around-the-edges rhythmic soul.

And finally, those much adored music videos. Within Temptation teams up with Xzibit for their version of a much shorter Lord of the Rings-themed dystopian anthem, Racing Glaciers pairs their triumphant horn-filled track with a love-lost story, and Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas put a face to the name as the songstress takes to a darker side of the Cali coast with her Demon Friend.

Get into a first of many summer grooves with this stellar lineup, and enjoy your weekend, Freeloaders!
