October 1, 2010 Artist News No Comments

Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings premiered their gorgeous new video for the I Learned The Hard Way ballad “If You Call” on VEVO.  The song’s classic lovelorn tale is complemented by the clip’s vintage style, complete with some powerful scenes which show that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

This is the second video that the band has unveiled from their fourth LP, the first being for the record’s title track.  Along with a soon-to-be-released third clip, these videos make up a trilogy that’s tied together by a relationship narrative. Stay tuned for the grand finale later this month.

It’s Not A Dream…It’s A Phosphene Dream: The Black Angels Are Taking Over

September 9, 2010 Artist News No Comments

This past Tuesday, The Black Angels played a killer show to a packed room of media, industry folks and lucky ticket-winning fans at NYC’s Angel Orensanz Foundation. The former synagogue with its vaulted ceilings and beautiful neo-gothic design was the perfect setting for the dark psych-rock band to play their new album, Phosphene Dream, in its entirety. You can watch them perform the lead-off track from Phosphene Dream, “Bad Vibrations” here.

While in New York, The Black Angels also made their network television debut last night, performing the groovy fuzzed-out single “Telephone” on the Late Show with David Letterman. Check out the live performance below…

Phosphene Dream hits stores next week via Blue Horizon, but it is available for pre-order on the band’s website or iTunes now.
