On the heels of the recent debut of their video for “Living Decorations”, Chicago’s Maps & Atlases released the Living Decorations EP exclusively on iTunes.
The band also just announced the launch of a Perch Patchwork Remix Competition last week. Maps & Atlases have provided the stems of three songs from their debut full-length Perch Patchwork, released last year on Barsuk Records, at www.mapsandatlases.org/remix. Participants are invited to create their own patchwork remix of these epic jams by using at least one snippet from each song. Five winners will be chosen by the band and will receive a boatload of Maps & Atlases merch and music (as well as some other goodies). The winning remixes will also be released by the band as a digital EP. For more details, visit the remix site above.
Setting the tone for all this remix goodness, Maps & Atlases are excited to offer up a remix of “Living Decorations” by noted UK art-rock quartet Breton who, under the moniker bretonLABS, have previously remixed tracks by Local Natives, Temper Trap, Yeasayer and others. Check it out here.
Finally, the band recently visited Laundro Matinee and filmed live performances of three songs from Perch Patchwork plus a cover of a Bob Marley song on the occasion of his 66th birthday. Watch it here.
