Ten Bands One Cause Announces 2020 Pink Vinyl Releases in Support of Gilda’s Club

Ten Bands One Cause Announces 2020 Pink Vinyl Releases in Support of Gilda’s Club

Founded seven years ago, Ten Bands One Cause is an initiative that raises funds and awareness for Gilda’s Club through the sales of special edition pink vinyl pressings. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s initiative may come in a smaller package with four releases, but its purpose is just as meaningful.

Gilda’s Club NYC is a nonprofit which works to support those fighting cancer along with their families. Named after Gilda Radner, a celebrated comedian who passed away from ovarian cancer at just 43, Gilda’s Club was founded by her close friends as a welcoming community, offering emotional support, counseling, education and many other forms of guidance.

With an increase in visitor restrictions at hospitals all over the country as a result of the coronavirus, it is even more challenging for cancer patients and their families to receive the emotional support they need.  In response to the current pandemic, Gilda’s Club has adapted their free in-person services to a virtual program for the safety of cancer patients who are among the most at-risk. With the new virtual program, members are able to participate in support groups, bereavement support groups, networking groups, teen counseling, healthy lifestyle workshops and educational lectures, while safely remaining at home, receiving the psycho-social support that is so vital when living with cancer.

Since 2014, Ten Bands One Cause has raised upwards of $250,000 for Gilda’s Club NYC with previous participants such as, Third Eye Blind, Amanda Palmer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ed Sheeran, Metallica and over 65 others. The Orchard’s annual Ten Bands One Cause initiative will launch again this September with four limited edition 12” pink vinyls including Fitz and the Tantrums, Pickin’ Up The Pieces 10th Anniversary (Dangerbird), Brian Fallon Local Honey (Lesser Known Records), Twin Peaks’ Side A (Grand Jury) and Chiodos’ All’s Well That Ends Well 15th Anniversary (Equal Vision).
