Billboard Latin Music Week Recap

Billboard Latin Music Week Recap

Each year, the Latin Music Industry gathers for Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami. It’s a week of 40+ artist conversations, 50+ artists on stage, 50+ executive speakers, and 5000+ attendees! The best and brightest of the Latin Music scene celebrated from Monday, October 2nd to Friday, October 6th this year.

Panels

Rimas Entertainment artists Lyanno and Miky Woods were panelists on So you have a Million Streams…Now what? Optimizing Your Songwriting and Production Earnings in the Streaming Era. The artists gave insight on their songwriting processes, their thoughts on 25-track albums, and their best advice to artists is to stay true to their fanbase.

On Tuesday, George Prajin, CEO of Prajin Parlay and Manager of Peso Pluma, and Federico Lauria, CEO of Dale Play Records, were panelists on The Power Players: The Indie Edition. Here’s what it means to be independent in their words:

“The meaning of the word independent says it all. We’re independent. We lead, we don’t follow. We’re the ones signing the artists at the grassroots. We’re the ones making the promises to the artists and the only way to really fulfill those obligations is being able to control the development.”

– George Prajin

“La independencia no tiene precio. Como sellos independientes o como estructuras independientes lo que nos da es mucha posibilidad tener una facilidad y agilidad de responder a la velocidad del estado mucho más rápido y eso es lo más importante que tenemos como estructura.”

– Federico Lauria

During The New Mexican Revolution panel, Peso Pluma (Doble P Records) opened up, stating, “All artists have a human side that many people may not know about. We have feelings too; we’re just like any other human being. We also go through struggles, we suffer, we cry, and there are many things that people don’t see. But, above all, I’d like to ask to keep supporting the industry and always support music and new talents. Especially new record labels and executives signing young talents. I hope they do it with a sincere heart.”
