Get Ready for Record Store Day 2023

Get Ready for Record Store Day 2023

Record Store Day (RSD) has announced their 2023 list and will take place on April 22nd. Since 2007, RSD has been gathering independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1,400 independently-owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally. Festivities include performances, meet & greets with artists, DJs spinning records, and much more! The Orchard will provide 34 releases for the day in an effort to drive traffic to independent record stores.

This year’s RSD Ambassadors, Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, will be releasing The Sound Emporium EP which is a single sided 12″ featuring 2 new originals, a reimagined version of “Tour Of Duty” from the album Here We Rest and a cover of Richard Thompson’s “Beeswing.”

The Allman Brothers Band will release the complete live concert performance from Syria Mosque Pittsburgh, PA from 1971. It will be on steel gray colored/numbered vinyl.

Death will release Fate: The Best Of Death LP reissue which was originally released in 1992. It’ll be released on a royal blue with a white, black and red splatter.

Altar is a collaboration album between Sunn O))) and Boris. It has been out of print on vinyl for over 15 years and will now be available for limited release.

Some new recordings/remixes from Blitz Vega and Johnny Marr will also be released. Blitz Vega is Andy Rourke of The Smiths and Kav Sandhu from Happy Mondays.

Fleetwood Mac‘s Albatross and Jigsaw Puzzle Blues will be released on a 12″ single that is numbered.

Björk will be releasing a 12″ single of remixes from her recently released album Fossora

Other releases from The John Doe Folk Trio, Queensrÿche, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Undeath, Laufey (heart-shaped Vinyl), Lacuna Coil, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Son Volt and more!

All sales will begin on Saturday, April 22! Use the Participating Store Search to find a store near you and contact them directly to find out how they’re participating and celebrating Record Store Day.  Stores in the US may choose to sell releases online starting Sunday, April 23.
