JulieDanskerIntroducing Julie Dansker, Director, Sales & Marketing, Film/TV

Originally from the East Coast, I went to the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. I studied Film because I have always loved movies and storytelling in general, whether through film, music, podcasts, at a dinner party or around a camp fire. I interned at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart while in college but my first job in LA was at Endeavor, working in talent. After putting in my obligatory year in, racking up some crazy stories and making a few lifelong friends, I transitioned to work at New Line Cinema in Creative Development. This led me to the opportunity to work for the President of Spyglass Entertainment and when the senior management team was invited to re-manage MGM and bring it out of bankruptcy I joined MGM Studios. I quickly realized that I was interested in digital distribution and wanted to be part of this disruptive, fast changing business. I started as an Account Executive in the digital group and then became Worldwide Manager of Digital Sales, Marketing and Social Media.

I feel lucky to have found The Orchard and am confident we will flourish in our new LA office. As for hobbies, I love traveling (going to Thailand in December!), play tennis every week, into yoga and cardio barre, live at the beach and am a foodie who loves to share restaurant recommendations. Very excited to share this next new chapter with you all!

Welcome, Shelby!

ShelbySchwimmerIntroducing Shelby Schwimmer, Executive Assistant, CEO

Born and raised in New York, I went to the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and studied Psychology & Sociology. I knew both concentrations would be useful in the entertainment industry, whether it be managing expectations and relationships, or knowing how to approach situations with the right mindset.

I actually interned at The Orchard during the summer of 2012 and instantly fell in love with the company. Once I graduated, I moved back to NYC and began working as a Post Production Manager at Cut+Run, an editorial company specializing in commercials and documentaries. Although the work was exciting, allowing me to witness the company’s and my hard work air on live TV, my heart remained in music, and with The Orchard. I found myself going full circle and making my way back to the company I fell in love with from the start. I actually am a singer myself, and enjoy jamming with friends and family for fun. I am extremely excited to be a part of such an influential team.

Welcome, Nick!

NickRosholtIntroducing Nick Rosholt, Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Film & TV

Between my Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Vudu, Google Play and iTunes accounts, I have access to a wealth of quality, on-demand content that completely negates the need for cable or any other preselected viewing experiences. I, like many other millennials (and the technologically-inclined), am completely in control of the entertainment I consume. Digital distribution isn’t just the future, it’s the present. It’s not merely an ancillary revenue stream, but an engine for creating quality content that attracts A-list talent. At this point it can’t be ignored. When Diana [Ed. Wollach, Orchardite since 2011] asked me if I would be interested in joining The Orchard’s passionate, dynamic team in the most dynamic facet of the film industry I couldn’t give any other answer but “yes.”

I was born in New York but grew up in South Africa where I was a regular at the movie theater and my family’s living room TV. From a very early age I knew that I wanted to be on the cutting edge of the entertainment world. After earning my B.A. at Brown University I went on to earn my M.F.A. in Producing at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. While there I interned with production companies in the studio, independent and television spheres. These experiences gave me valuable insight into the creation of content and how important marketing is in helping content find an audience.

I’m beyond excited to be joining The Orchard, and am looking forward to meeting and working with you all.

Welcome, Rishi!

RishiSatsangiIntroducing Rishi Satsangi, Senior Software Engineer

Hi everyone, I’m Rishi Satsangi and I’ve just started here on the Engineering Frontline team.

Amazing fact: I used to work at IODA under the tutelage of Mike Drake in the 00’s. I just recently came to The Orchard from Salesforce Marketing Cloud and I am so happy to be working in the music industry again instead of helping McDonalds Megacorp schedule tweets. At IODA, I loved the fact that I was helping independent artists, and I look forward to doing it again with this amazing team.

I went to school at THE Ohio State University for undergrad in Computer Science, then I became a Masters Art School dropout from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in the field of Illustration. I am still into illustration and animation, here is the latest cartoon I did about Twitter and Google getting their own superheroes.

I like music a lot, and would love any listening suggestions from you fine folks. Side note: I started guitar lessons so watch out Woody Guthrie.

Welcome, Jon!

jon ngIntroducing Jonathan Ng, IT Service Desk Administrator

I’m Jonathan Ng, most people call me Jon for short.

I’m a born bred New Yorker, and I am a proud well rounded Geek-American.

I studied Cartooning in High School (with an emphasis on comic book art). I then graduated with a BA in History (Medieval European) and studied abroad at Oxford University, studying Medieval Christian Mysticism and CS Lewis.

I’m also a gear-head and weekend musician. My current rig consists of a pre-Fender Gretsch 6119 Tennessee Rose, Pedal board (JHS/TC Electronics/EarthQuaker Devices/Eventide pedals), and a modded Vox AC15 with a Celestion Speaker from a Matchless Spitfire. Currently I’m really into the Foo Fighters, but I grew up listening to bands like P.O.D, Linkin Park, and Incubus. My current hobby consists of upgrading and flipping guitars/gear for cash; it helps facilitate my G.A.S. problem (Gear Acquisition Syndrome LOL).

I volunteer at my local church @CitylightNYC as the lead guitarist in the worship band and as a backup sound engineer.

Career-wise, I have mainly worked in the Higher Education Sector. The Orchard is the second private sector company I have been a part of and I’m glad I’m here. Look forward to working with you all!
