JessChungIntroducing Jess Chung, Software Engineer, Video Services

My name is Jess and I am ecstatic to be joining the team at The Orchard, as a member of the Video Services team. I grew up in Chicago, but also spent long-ish periods of time in Honolulu and San Diego. I attended Williams College in Western Massachusetts, where I was the music director of WCFM 91.9 (among other things).

After graduating, I spent a year teaching high school chemistry at Horace Mann School. Most recently, I worked at IBG, which provides consulting, research and systems integration services in biometrics and identity intelligence for federal government agencies and commercial customers. If you ever feel like talking biometric collection and matching, let me know!

During my free time, I enjoy going to shows and listening to new music (the photo is me with Marnie Stern a couple of weeks ago — she really shreds it and let me shake her hand), going to the gym and hanging out at dog parks with my miniature schnauzer, Fred.

Welcome, Steve!

Introducing Steven Kelly, Product Manager, Frontline Squad

Hi everyone — I’m Steve. I’m grew up in a little town north of Pittsburgh called Zelienople. I went to Penn State and I’m a die-hard Nittany Lions fan which has been interesting in the past few years. After my junior year, I interned at SonyBMG in New York — and after graduating, I started a full-time job there doing ringtone distribution.

I worked at Sony for about 7 years — and in that time, the company’s name changed at least twice (SonyBMG > Sony Music > Sony DADC). I left last May to do project management at delivery.com, which was cool — but I missed the music industry a lot… and that brings me here!

I’m a huge fan of punk music — and I grew up playing in bands throughout high school. I got married a couple of months ago and I recorded the song for our first dance. It’s a song I wrote for my fiancee when we started dating and I had an opportunity to re-record it professionally. You can hear it here (“Scrabble”). I also play in a band that only covers songs from the Dumb & Dumber soundtrack.

Welcome, Mercedes!

mercedesbrownIntroducing Mercedes Brown, Client Relations Coordinator, UK

Prior to joining the lovely team at The Orchard, I worked as a Marketing Assistant in the Priorities department at Universal Music Group International — despite primarily dealing with catalog I got to work some frontline releases too. Whilst I was there, I was lucky enough to work the In Utero 20 campaign which I saw landed itself in the music alleys campaign of the year — which is pretty cool! Before that, I worked and interned at various different companies in the industry such as Atlantic Records, Roadrunner Records, Trashed Management and Industry Music Group.

Music-wise my prime forte is Rock and Metal — my favourite band is Metallica, shortly followed by Slipknot, Cancer Bats and Machine Head. Though I have a massive place in my heart reserved for Pop and Dance!

A lot of my spare time is also taken up by music-related things. I write reviews for Glasswerk and I am an artist manager at SGR Artist Management (where I am Counting Days and Feed The Rhino‘s day-to-day manager). I go to a lot of gigs and love festivals and everything like that! If I ever have time around that I train in MMA and indulge in spa days.

Dylan LewisIntroducing Dylan Lewis, Retail Marketing Coordinator

After 18 years of knowing nothing but chalkboards, tests and grades (and food/fun), I am happy to say I’ve arrived at my first full-time job after graduating Syracuse University last month. I could not be more thrilled that this first gig is here at The Orchard. I received my Bachelors in Music Business and Trumpet performance with a focus in classical, jazz and funk/rock. While at SU, I had the opportunity to play in a mega-funk-rock-fusion band called The Monk where we frequently dined at a restaurant called Fenton’s Wharf.

Since I started playing the trumpet 12 years ago, I knew music was what I gravitated toward most and it eventually became my passion as well as my hobby. Throughout high school and college, I participated in marching band, concert bands, jazz bands. My first venture into the music business proper was an internship in sales at Universal Music Group after my sophomore year. That solidified my desire to pursue a career in this industry. Two years later, after interning at WEA and Island Records, I had the opportunity to gain experience abroad at The Orchard’s London Office. That led me back to where I sit now as the new Retail Marketing Coordinator.

I am very excited as I begin my career in this jungle of a business and I hope that I meet and work with as many of you as possible. I’ve already gotten my feet pretty wet and I am excited to take the plunge.

Welcome, Konstantinos!

KonstantinosAdamIntroducing Konstantinos Adam, Account Coordinator, Video Services, Greece

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Konstantinos Adam and I am beyond excited to be joining forces and to be a part of the Video Services team here at The Orchard.

I was born and raised in Greece and for as long as I remember myself, I have always had a big passion for music. I can always recall moments of my life from back in the day when my father used to educate me about music and its magic, as he was and still is a big music lover, while listening to records out of his huge record selection.

Not a long time after I reached the age of 6 years old, I decided that I wanted to extend my passion for music into practice and so I began taking classical guitar lessons and theory of music. While I was pursuing a career in the music field, I was also very interested about pursuing simultaneously a career in Marketing and Business Economics, which I finally did after I got accepted at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

After I graduated and received my Bachelor’s, I thought it was time for me to combine both of my passions for Marketing and Music.¬†After some time, I started to work as a Digital Marketer to one of the biggest independent Greek record label, Heaven Music.

I enjoy listening to Jazz, Soul and Electronic music (I know they are very different genres but can be combined harmoniously) and attending live performances (last two I can remember were Trentemoller and Dee Dee Bridgewater).
