jim martinIntroducing Jim Martin, Director of Sports, Film & TV

I’m Jim Martin and I’m so excited to be a part of The Orchard. I’ll be working with Danny Grant on Sports movie acquisition and marketing from the West Coast office. I’m a lifelong fan of action sports, especially skateboarding and snowboarding. Fanclub Media, the company I founded back in 2008 which was just recently merged into The Orchard, was the first to launch an Action Sports movie on iTunes, Forum Snowboards’ That. When I’m not at work, I meditate and do yoga and am really into astrophotography. I like being outdoors and hanging out with my friends and family.

VipulChopraIntroducing Vipul Chopra, Graphic Designer

Hello everyone! My name is Vipul, I’m the new Graphic Designer for The Orchard.

A quick background: I just moved to New York earlier this month from Orange County, California and graduated in the spring of 2014 from California State University, Long Beach, with a BFA in Graphic Design, concentrating mainly on branding.

Things I like about New York so far:

  • Working at a company like The Orchard, where I get to create design for the music & film industry
  • Awesome public transportation. It’s easy to get around anywhere and everywhere (vs. Cali, where I had to drive all the time)
  • Awesome variety of food
  • Tons of things to do: museums, bars, Central Park, all sorts of Meetups. (Design is very concentrated in NYC and that is a big inspiration for me moving here.)
  • I feel very safe in the city

Things I like to do for fun:

  • Go to museums and art/design galleries
  • Play and watch anything basketball. (I can’t wait to watch a Knicks or Nets game live.)
  • Explore and travel
  • Try all sorts of new food
  • Hang out with friends and bar hop!

I’m looking forward to working with everyone here, and appreciate the warm welcome.

Going to Extremes With Fanclub Media

947008_484432661628221_1218504280_nWe sure know how to pick ‘em. And they know how to pick us! We’ve just sealed a deal with Action Sports Film heavyweights Fanclub Media and we could not be more thrilled to have our two powers combined. We’ve always been huge fans of the digital Film & TV distributor, but now we get the remarkable honor of working side by side with them!

What’s happening, exactly? Well, Fanclub’s CEO Jim Martin and VP Marc Cuevas will join us in our LA and New York offices to help with our ongoing Film projects, specifically in the realm of Action Sports (remember our Red Bull announcement?).

These dudes have been doing the Extreme Sports thing for a while now. Fanclub began in 2008 and was the first ever (yes EVER) company to sell an Action Sports film in the iTunes movie store. So yeah, you could most definitely say these guys were ahead of their time. Since then, they’ve honed their craft, making huge waves in the world of digital film distribution and Action Sports. They’ve been at the top of the charts with their films, with features like Spike Jonze’s Pretty Sweet, Sherpas Cinema’s All.I.Can and all-time top-grossing Action Sports film, Art of Flight.

With our two catalogues put together, we’ll be able to give you the greatest, most awe-inspiring Action Sports films out there. Get ready for plenty of high-quality, action-packed adventure, and a very warm Orchard welcome to Fanclub Media!

natalie_mooallemIntroducing Natalie Mooallem, Director, Client Management, Film & TV

Hi, my name is Natalie and I’m thrilled to be joining the Film & Television team. I have a background in multimedia arts and film programming, development and production, and I’ve worked for a number of NYC institutions including Miramax, Vice and most recently, Tribeca Film Institute, where I managed feature programming. My favorite sports teams are predominantly Canadian, I enjoy reading about robots, fashion and disgruntled TV writers, and I saw Machete Kills! during its theatrical run.

MartinaCanaleIntroducing Martina Canale, Client Manager, Latin America

Hi, I’m Martina, born and raised in Buenos Aires. I studied Communications at Austral University, and I’m only a couple of finals away from getting my degree. I chose my major because I wanted to be a Music journalist and because I love to travel, and I felt like this career would allow me to do it. As time went by, I realised that I could work in the music business in areas other than journalism, and that’s how I found The Orchard.

I also work as a producer in a radio station and write my own blog about music. As for my favorite artists, I spend my time listening to Ellie Goulding, Alt-J and Arctic Monkeys, between many many others. I also play tennis, learn Portuguese, take photography lessons and love watching TV shows and traveling.

I’m very excited to join The Orchard team!
