Out Today by The Orchard: Ant Clemons, Alice Cooper, Clara Peya

New music from Grammy-nominated R&B artist Ant Clemons, Heavy Rock legend Alice Cooper, and prolific Spanish pianist and composer Clara Peya.

Ant Clemons – HAPPY 2 BE HERE (Anniversary Edition) (Legion / Human Re Sources)

One year ago, Ant Clemons released his debut album Happy 2 Be Here (Human Re Sources) and was met with critical acclaim, including a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best R&B Album. It was only a few years ago that Clemons moved across the country from New Jersey to Los Angeles to pursue his dream. By 2018, he was writing songs that landed him on the Billboard charts, and most recently he performed his song “Better Days” – written and performed with Justin Timberlake – at the 2021 Presidental Inauguration Celebration. In honor of the one-year anniversary of Happy 2 Be Here, Ant Clemons releases a new anniversary edition HAPPY 2 BE HERE (Anniversary Edition), featuring one new track and guest artists Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, and Ty Dolla $ign.

Alice Cooper – Detroit Stories (earMUSIC)

One of the most familiar faces in Heavy Rock, Alice Cooper releases his twenty-first album Detroit Stories (earMUSIC). Alice Cooper pays homage to the city he claims was once the “Heavy Rock central,” when bands like the Stooges, The Who, Ted Nugent, and himself, were taking over the city’s live music scene with shows only costing audiences a few dollars. Detroit Stories was produced by Bob Ezrin (Kiss, Lou Reed, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel) and recorded in a Detroit studio, bringing together legendary Detroit musicians to celebrate that old Detroit heavy rock spirit for a new era. “I was born here,” said Alice Cooper, “and so was the Sound and Spirit of Alice Cooper.” Listen to Detroit Stories out now.

Clara Peya – Perifèria (Vida Records)

Clara Peya is one of the most prolific and transgressive pianists in all of Spain. Clara takes inspiration from artists such as Samora Pinderhughes, RY X, Patrick Watson, Douglas Dare, Beady Belle, Portishead, and Björk. A resilient activist, she was recognized with the 2019 National Culture Award for her musical career and social commitment. Today, Clara Peya releases her new album Perifèria, featuring eleven new pieces with a special feature from actress Alba Flores and Ana Tijoux. Listen to Perifèria out now via Vida Records.
