Out Today by The Orchard: Dentist, Eisley & More

Out Today by The Orchard: Dentist, Eisley & MoreIt’s finally the weekend and what better way to relax than by listening to some new tunes? Vibe to Dentist’s surf rock, jam out to extreme metal band Skeletonwitch, or keep it mellow with soulful acoustics from Eisley’s recreated classics. Whether it’s rock, metal, punk, or blissful guitar, these fresh new finds will most definitely get you rocking, all out today.

New Jersey natives Emily Bornemann, Justin Bornemann, and Matt Hockenjos form the band Dentist and they are back in action with their new album Night Swimming via Cleopatra Records. Acclaimed on AV/Club as one of “The 28 albums we can’t wait to hear in 2018’s second half,” this album defines summer vibes while also juxtaposing themes of heartbreak and anxiety. Their pop sounds, inspired by the beach, mix with rock and garage punk for the perfect balance. Emily tells Jammerzine that they wanted to capture different aspects of themselves while being raw and simple with a lean towards pop. Their new video below for track “Night Swimming” consists of one continuous take of singer Emily encountering the seven deadly sins in a seedy nightclub. Dentist’s nationwide tour, which will be their longest, extending coast to coast, starts next week and will run through August. So be sure to check the dates and cities for a fun time.

Rock band Eisley releases their new album, I’m Only Dreaming…Of Days Long Past via Equal Vision Records. The eleven-track album features stripped-down performances with strong acoustics and reimagined versions of their album last year, I’m Only Dreaming. Members Sherri DuPree-Bemis and Garron Dupree developed the album to make new memories with their fans and provide “a new perspective on love, on pain, on the brightest times and the darkest times.” Their second track, “Defeatist,” which was originally a heavy electric guitar song, premiered on Billboard and has been “transposed into a delicate specter featuring just piano and frontwoman Sherri DuPree’s voice.” With just a change in tempo, a song that was once more upbeat becomes a powerful and emotional ballad. Be sure to find a quiet space and enjoy these awesome reinterpreted tracks.

Heavy metal band Skeletonwitch releases their first full length album in five years, Devouring Radiant Light via Prosthetic Records. Dubbed the “Sons of Midwestern Darkness” in their early days, their reformulated presence is now better than ever. They decided to steer away from their roots of mixing thrash and black metal to focus strictly on the subgenre of black metal in this eight track album. Creativity sparks in their tracks — In fact, three of them reach beyond the seven minute mark. A strong atmospheric influence with crafty rhythms and riffs will get you head-banging. Skeletonwitch is currently touring Europe, so make sure you snag your ticket as soon as possible.

That’s all we have for now friends! Be sure to come back every Friday for new releases that will have you jumping for joy. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for checking out Out Today by The Orchard.
