Youtube Music recently announced the Foundry Class of 2022, welcoming 30 new artists to its global artist development program. Established in 2015 as a workshop series, and then again in 2017 as an incubator committed to independent music, Foundry’s mission to support independent artists has remained strong. By providing seed funding, strategic partner support, investing in long-term relationships with artists, and assisting them through marketing campaigns, YouTube Foundry provides artists with imperative resources that help them build and develop their careers.
We are excited to announce that several artists distributed by The Orchard were included in YouTube Music’s Foundry Class of 2022, including Jossman, Magdalena Bay, Obongjayar, and Roxane Bruneau. This year saw a 4X increase in Foundry applications, and the Class of 2022 is the program’s largest to date, with 30 artists hailing from 15 different countries.
In the words of Naomi Zeichner, YouTube Artist Partnerships Lead, “It’s no small task to be an artist in 2022, working to find stability, fulfillment, and fans who get it. Foundry celebrates the courage of independent artists and the communities that surround them. Our global team is lucky to be their champion and reduce barriers on their journey, every step of the way.”
