2021 JUNO Award Winners Are Announced

2021 JUNO Award Winners Are Announced

This past weekend, the 50th Annual JUNO Award winners were revealed. In partnership with the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), the award show was broadcasted across CBC stations nationally and included performances from some of Canada’s top musicians. This year, seven of The Orchard’s distributed releases took home JUNO Awards.

The indie rock singer-songwriter and former member of the band Karkwa, Louis-Jean Cormier took home the prize for Album Francophone de l’Année for Quand la nuit tombe. This is not the first award Cormier has received for this release. Last November Quand la nuit tombe won the ADISQ Award for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year, while Cormier and associated writers received the award for Writer/Composer of the Year.

A familiar name in any country, Alanis Morissette, was also a winner of the evening earning Adult Contemporary Album of the Year for her Epiphany/Thirty Tigers release, Such Pretty Forks in the Road. Alanis has a memorable history alongside the JUNOS having hosted in the past. She recently discussed her experience with the JUNOS as it relates to censorship and activism.

Congratulations to all of our winners! See The Orchard’s list below and the full list of JUNO Award winners here.
